Current Positions

  • Chairman of the Board at 3AM Innovations, a venture-backed software startup providing communications and logistics solutions for first responders. Previously serving as CEO.
  • Vice Chairman of the Board at Launch NY, a venture capital firm providing seed capital to early-stage companies, and member of the investment committee.
  • Independent Board Member at Helix/Intel, a software-based advisory firm serving national and international venture firms and technology startups.
  • Independent Board Member at EagleHawk, a technology company focused on data-driven intelligence and analytics solutions for operational and decision-support use cases.
  • A member of the Board of Advisors to various VC-backed companies, including MROPlan.AI, Polco, and LaFamiglia Pictures, among others.

Mel has led various organizations to exceptional growth and profitability, revived companies from the brink of bankruptcy, and taken a company public.

Previously, Mel served as CEO of 3AM Solutions, President and CEO of USU Solutions, Inc., and as an Executive Board Member at USU Solutions, Inc. and USU AG, both providers of global enterprise IT management software and consulting services.

Prior to those assignments, Mel spent more than a decade leading the turnaround of Attunity, Inc., a software company that went public on the NASDAQ and was subsequently acquired by a private equity firm for approximately $600 million.

Earlier in his career, Mel led turnaround and growth initiatives at Artisoft, Concerto Software, Create!form International, and MAK Technologies, named a Deloitte Fast 50 company.

Mel began his career as an early employee in senior sales and marketing roles at Intergraph Corporation, during a period when the company grew from under $70 million in revenue to more than $1.4 billion.

Past board positions include service on the Board of the University at Buffalo – School of Entrepreneurship and the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association.

Mel holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law. He lives in Nashua, New Hampshire, with his wife of forty years. They have two grown children. His personal interests include fly fishing, skiing, horseback riding, sailing, and spending time with his family and in the fields with his Labrador Retrievers.
